How to Replace a Broken Toilet Flange?
Here is a simple guide to help you fix your toilet flange yourself:
Step 1: Turn off the water and remove the toilet: Shut off the water supply to the toilet and flush it to empty the tank and bowl. Sponge or vacuum out the remaining water inside the toilet tank and bowl. Then remove the water supply line from the toilet and lift the toilet and carefully lay it on its side on an old rug (to prevent chipping).
Step 2: Clean off toilet and flange: Get a putty knife to remove wax from the old wax ring from the underside of the toilet and the top of the toilet flange. Next, wipe clean with paper towels.
Step 3: Install the new flange: Center the toilet bolts and securely attach the toilet flange over the existing toilet flange using the included toilet screws provided in the toilet repair kit (watch our video guide for more explanation).
Step 4: Reinstall the toilet: Carefully lower the toilet back over the toilet seal. Our toilet bolts are easily aligned with the holes in the toilet base (automatically centering the toilet, seal, and flange). Tighten the bolts to secure the toilet in place. Trim the toilet bolts to length with a saw (for metal bolts), or use the included diamond saw to make the job easier. Next, cover them with the toilet caps.
Step 5: Reconnect the water supply: Reattach the water line and turn on the water supply. Check for any leaks and make sure the toilet is stable.
